What is the difference between a gift card, store credit and loyalty points?
A gift card has a code that someone buys and later spends. Store credit is money owed to one customer, such as change they chose to keep. Loyalty points are rewards a customer earns on purchases and spends later. Gift cards and store credit are dollars; points follow the rate you set.
Why is my customer not earning points?
A customer has to be attached to the ticket, the loyalty program must be enabled, the sale type has to count (product or service sales), and the earning rate must be above zero.
Can a gift card pay for part of a sale?
Yes. If the sale is bigger than the balance, Franpos tells you the card only covers part of it and you take the rest with another payment type.
Can customers check their own gift card balance?
Yes, on your website when you turn on Show gift card balance page. Staff can always use Gift card balance from the ticket options.
How do I see how much gift card money is still out there?
Open the Gift Card item in Catalog. Its overview shows Outstanding balance and Cards issued by period, and the Items overview shows Sold this period and Redeemed this period.
Do points expire, and what happens on a refund?
Deduct points on refund returns the points a refunded sale earned. On a multi-location account, standardizing loyalty lets you turn on expiry and set how many months rewards last; with expiry off, rewards never expire.
