Printers and scanners are set up on the device that sits at the counter.

Printers

Find it, add it, done

Under Settings, Devices, Printers, press Scan for printers.

Look for printers on USB, Network and Bluetooth, then Add, Rename and Make default
Test print, and Open cash drawer from the printer, with Drawer 1 or Drawer 2 to match the cable
Print receipt automatically after a sale
Give a printer a role: Receipt printer, a kitchen printer, QR labels or Summary ticket
Routing limits a kitchen printer to chosen categories or order sources such as In store, Online or Kiosk
Paper width of Auto, 2, 3 or 4 inches

Barcodes work wherever Franpos asks for an item: the Register, Inventory Lookup and stock screens such as Receive.

Questions about devices and hardware

How do I connect a receipt printer?

On the device at the counter, open Settings, Devices, Printers, leave USB, Network and Bluetooth selected, press Scan for printers and press Add when yours shows up. Use Make default on the one that should print receipts.

Can I set up printers in a web browser?

No. The Printers row is only in the installed app, on the device at the counter.

Does the scale work in a browser?

No. A scale needs a register with a USB port that runs the Franpos app.

What happens to sales if the internet goes down?

They are saved on the device first and uploaded when the connection is back. Pending sales on the Health page shows how many are waiting, and you should not log out while that count is above zero.

Do kitchen screens run in a browser?

No. Kitchen displays work in the Franpos app.
