Kitchens, rebuilt around AI

Every ticket, the second it is placed. A kitchen that never loses an order.

Imagine the rush hits and nobody shouts. The grill sees its tickets, the bar sees its drinks, the expeditor sees the whole order as it comes together, and the guest sees a board that says Ready. Franpos is a kitchen display system, with kitchen printers beside it, that sends every order where it belongs.

In-store, online and kiosk orders into one kitchen, with an assistant that keeps the line calm.

A screen for every station

Any tablet on your network becomes a kitchen screen, and the registers find it on their own.

Roles

Kitchen, Expeditor, Order ready

Each screen has a role, so each person sees exactly what they need.

  • A Kitchen screen shows tickets to cook, and cooks tap Bump when one is done
  • An Expeditor screen shows the order as it now stands, including lines already finished
  • An Order ready screen is a board for customers, with Preparing and Ready lists
  • Recall a bumped ticket from the bar at the top of the board
Routing

The grill and the bar get their own screens

Decide what each screen receives, so nobody scrolls past someone else's food.

  • Filter by Categories, Order types and Order sources: In store, Online, Kiosk or System
  • Late after (minutes) flags slow tickets, and Item-level mode lets cooks finish single lines
  • A New ticket sound with Volume, and a Play button to test it
  • A bump bar can be attached, which hides the on-screen Bump button
Setup

Switch a tablet on, and it shows up

Run this device as a kitchen screen, name it, and registers on the same network connect on their own.

  • Registers list every screen they find, with a green dot when connected
  • Choose a Grid or Split screen layout, Columns and Rows, a Dark or Light theme and Text size
  • Show prices, Group items, Display bundle name and Break a long order across boxes are switches
  • Kitchen displays work in the Franpos app, not in a web browser

Printers still have a place

Some kitchens want paper, some want screens, many want both.

Kitchen printers

Slips, labels and a ticket for the whole order

Give a printer the kitchen role, and decide what it prints.

  • Choose Ticket, Item labels or Order barcode, and Group identical items
  • Modifiers can print Default, Compact or Ultra compact to save paper
  • Routing limits a printer to the categories and order sources you tick, such as a bar printer
  • Send orders to the kitchen When Charge is tapped or After payment, and optionally when an order is put on hold
  • Resend to kitchen reprints every line of a ticket if an order never printed
Items

What goes to the kitchen is up to the item

In a restaurant, only items you mark go to a printer or screen.

  • Turn on Send to kitchen on an item, with an optional Kitchen name
  • Give a modifier a shorter Kitchen name so a long option fits on a ticket
  • 86 an item and it stops selling, and linked delivery marketplaces are updated at once
  • Held tickets are tracked, so lines already sent are not printed twice
03 · Every door into the kitchen

One kitchen, every channel

Orders can come from the counter, the website, the kiosk and more, and each reaches the right screen.

The register

With Live updates on, orders show on the screens as they are rung up, and lines come off when they leave the cart.

Online orders

Send to kitchen immediately prints the ticket when an online order arrives instead of when someone starts it.

Self-ordering kiosks

Kiosk is an order source, so a kiosk order can go to its own screen.

A busy kitchen

Orders throttling spreads online orders out by preparation time, with a Kitchen bandwidth you set.

Kitchens are switching to Franpos.

“Order tickets hit the kitchen the second they're placed. Our line moves so much faster at lunch rush.”

Kitchen display system, answered

How do I turn a tablet into a kitchen screen?
On the tablet open Settings, Devices, Kitchen displays, switch on Run this device as a kitchen screen, type a Screen name and open the screen. Then switch on Enable kitchen displays on each register, and the screens appear in its list with a green dot when connected.
What are the screen roles?
Kitchen shows the tickets to cook. Expeditor shows the order as it now stands, including finished lines. Order ready is a customer-facing board with Preparing and Ready lists.
Can the bar and the grill have separate screens?
Yes. Each screen can be limited by Categories, Order types and Order sources, and kitchen printers can be limited the same way with Routing.
What if I bump a ticket by mistake?
Tap Recall a bumped ticket in the bar at the top of the board, then Recall on the ticket you want back.
Why is an order not on the screen?
Check that Enable kitchen displays is on at the register, that the screen role is Kitchen, that both devices are on the same network, and that the item has Send to kitchen turned on.
Do kitchen displays run in a web browser?
No. They work in the Franpos app on a device on your network, not in a web browser.
What does it cost?
Every business is different, so we quote per location. Book a demo and we will walk you through it.

A kitchen that runs on signal, not shouting.

Book a demo and watch a ticket travel from the register to the right screen.
