Warehouse locations and bins

Know exactly where every unit lives.

A warehouse is a map. Franpos gives yours one: locations with codes that read aisle, bay and level, bins that hold lots and expiry dates, pick lists that walk the picker in the right order, and counts you can run on a phone while you walk the aisle.

A place for every unit, and every unit in its place

The Warehouse area is for companies set up as a warehouse or wholesale supplier.

Locations

Shelves and bins, labeled

Each location has a code that reads aisle, bay, level, such as A-03-2, and a pick sequence that sets the walking order for pickers.

  • Add a location with its code, zone, pick sequence and capacity, and print labels for the shelves
  • Put away stock, Move it, or Count this item from the item's Warehouse tab, or from the Unassigned list on the Locations page
  • A bin can hold a lot code and an expiry date
  • The bins of an item add up to its on-hand quantity, and any gap shows as Unassigned
  • A location over capacity gets a warning, and the move still goes through
Getting started

Load it from a spreadsheet

The Import page has a Warehouse tab for companies set up as a warehouse.

  • Import your Locations from a file
  • Import Stock by bin, choosing to replace bin quantities or add to them
  • A preview tells you each row's result before anything is applied
  • Retire a location that is no longer used; it is kept on file and can be reactivated

Pick in order. Ship what is fresh first.

Picking turns reserved orders into a pick list that sends the picker around the warehouse in location order.

Picking

A route through the aisles

Choose New pick list, enter the reserved order numbers, and work through the stops.

  • Earliest expiry is picked first, and stock past its expiry date is blocked from picking
  • On a phone or scanner, the pick screen walks you stop by stop, and a scan of the bin label, SKU or product code is checked when you confirm
  • Plan a wave to release several orders together
  • If you cannot fill a stop, choose Short so the warehouse can decide what to do
  • Print pick slip if you want a paper copy
Counts and expiry

Count an aisle. Catch an expiry.

Counts walk one aisle, bin by bin; the Expiry page lists lots expiring soon or already expired.

  • Record count changes nothing yet; Confirm count adjusts stock with the reason Cycle count, or Recount clears it
  • Counting stamps each location's last counted date
  • Expiring soon shows amber and expired shows red; write off an expired lot or return it to the vendor
  • Expiry alerts set how many days before expiry to warn, who is told, and whether by email, push or both
  • The Tasks page is the work queue, with replenishment first
